Kitchen Base Cabinets have been placed in position. This was not a custom made kitchen therefore requires some tweaking to make it fit.
Once again we've opted to Owner Build and Project Manage our second home liking the idea of selecting both material and trade contractor quality. This Blog describes our Journey as Owner-Builders on 2 Acres in a Semi-Rural Town in Victoria, Australia. It all starts with purchasing the land, building our Man Shed, Building our Home, growing landscape plants, designing and establishing our Garden.

And now internally!
Progressive photos of setting up the Bathroom and Kitchen. Fairly self explanatory. The Kitchen was purchased off eBay for a quarter of it's value. It came out of a Custom Kitchen Manufacturer's showroom .... an absolute bargain and we can't even use all of it!
Dad only too happy to help out |

Still in the Bathroom. The other side of this Plaster Wall is the Kitchen |

Our Wood Heater .... another Bargain at 1/4 of it's retail price .... and yes another eBay purchase |
Whatever time we have off, we're at the Shed doing something. It's an absolute pleasure to be out here and its so very very quiet. The land size is fantastic too, so much space. We've met the majority of our neighbours and they are lovely.

Spot the Difference!
Our Concrete Contractor was called back to lay some concrete paths around the Shed's perimeter. That way we will have a clean area to both walk and park on.

Laying it all out to see what works best
Prior to framing up walls to divide the Kitchen and the Bathroom, cabinets are laid out to see what measurements will work.

Our Quirky Letterbox
We always had a vision of having something completely different and unusual as a Letterbox for our property. We decided to have it cut out of Cypress Pine. We had Ash cut a tree in half, literally. We purchased a Stainless Steel Lockable Letterbox and he cut out a perfect hole for this to be installed. It weighs so much a crane had to be used to deliver it.
We plan to let it weather naturally so that eventually it will be shades of Grey (not 50 just a few) and a Feature against our Cypress Pine Stained Fence.
Approximately 50 cm of it will be below ground and set in concrete |
