The day following our commissioning of our new Tree Trunk Letterbox, which you would have noticed is positioned on the left of our Crossover and Driveway, a dispute was started by a disgruntled Postal Contractor. She refused to deliver our mail, stating that according to Australia Post, we "must" have our letterbox on the Right side of the Crossover, not the left, must have a street number, not a Lot number, and the property must contain a residence, not an empty parcel of land.
To cut a long story short, we were right and she was wrong.
Australia Post confirmed that any property with a Letterbox must be delivered to regardless of whether a dwelling exists or not.
Our reason for setting up our Letterbox on the Left hand side of the crossover was simply because we had a water mains on the Right side and due to the weight and size of the structure, we were unable to position it there.
We were at no time trying to make life difficult for anyone.
We widened our crossover to assist the many future heavy vehicles and machinery to gain easier access to our property for delivery of materials and this also enabled the Postal Contractors Motor vehicle to swing in and exit easily when delivering our mail.
All has been resolved and now we are receiving mail, mainly Bills and Invoices.
The Excavator Contractor also did a site cut, levelled out and moved rocks in the location of our future Slab.
